The sight of Kanye West, Big Sean and OFWGTA's Tyler the Creator abandoning the traditional New Era cap in search of alternatives seems to have created a fault line between cap wearers. This demise coincides with the rise of two new alternatives: the volley cap and the snapback. As not much of a cap wearer I have no preference, both have their merits. The volley cap is an interesting choice which works very well, even for those looking to achieve a more preppy look as shown in the image to the right (via TheStyleBlogger.com).Meanwhile,  the snapback, typically the reserve of hipsters and cool kids is gaining far greater popular attention. Indeed snapbacks have been eulogized in dedicated anthems by Mac Miller, Tyga & Chris Brown and Rick Ross. Unlike the volley cap it probably has less prep appeal, neverthless they are no less as fresh. On the contrary, Kanye West  has been blogged on seemingly every blog in the past week rocking a snakeskin Mavericks snapback all over the place (image via Complex.com)

So whilst the death of the New Era may be insight, it's unclear just what will take its place. Have you made your decision? Comment Below.
